Our accommodation is tastefully decorated to a high standard with comfortable beds, with all mattresses recently replaced. All bedrooms are equipped with mini fridge, modern flat screen televisions, hairdryer, mints, Gilchrist and Soames toiletries and a quality hospitality tray consisting of quality biscuits, both decafinated coffee and regular coffee sachets, variety of english tea bags and also fairtrade hot chocolate and sugars. Fresh milk is provided in the mini fridge. Given our central location, fell views are experienced from most rooms.
We have three bedrooms, all en-suite: 2 king sized sleigh bedded rooms with spa baths on the top floor (Walla Crag and Lords Seat) and 1 queen sized or twin bedded room with bath and shower (Buttermere) on the first floor.
Our Lords Seat room has the best views from the property and our mountain photographs on this site are taken from the room.
Our Walla Crag room has a sloping ceiling to one side of the room and may be unsuitable for taller people and those who are claustrophobic.
We operate on a room-only basis as we are but a few steps away from many cafes/restaurants. You will have fresh milk in the mini fridge in the bedroom for the complimentary hot drinks but we do not offer a breakfast option so please ensure that you are fully aware of this before making a reservation with us.
We can offer packed lunches and flask hire for your day out. We can also book theatre tickets, discounted boat trips and restaurants. If you are planning a special occasion, we can arrange flowers, chocolates, champagne etc upon arrival or during your stay with us. Although we don’t have a car park we do purchase car parking permits so you can park free of charge in the council car parks for the duration of your stay.
We are lifelong lovers of the fells and lake district and have extensive knowledge of the area. We are ideally located as a base to explore the town and the surrounding fells. We have a number of walking books and guides for our guests to peruse and we can offer our advice on walks to cater for all abilities, whether it be a gentle 10 minute stroll to Derwentwater lake, a flat scenic walk along the old railway line or a full day walking Scafell Pike, Englands highest mountain at 3,209 feet.
Wifi is available free of charge throughout the property.
